Bethlehem House 2013 Inaugural Ball
Bethlehem House, a home for women who are pregnant and homeless, is hosting its first major benefit event on Saturday, September 28. The 2013 Ball will take place in the Ahmanson Ballroom on the 4th floor of the Mike & Josie Harper Center on Creighton University’s campus (602 N 20th Street, Omaha, NE 68178).
Silent auction and cocktail hour begin at 6 p.m. with dinner, a formal program and entertainment to follow. Event honorary chair is Fr. Damien Cook. Formal attire requested. Kiwanis Award Presented to John Hartwell’s Father-In-Law

John Hartwell’s father-in-law was an active Kiwanian for over 60 years. His wife, Jean, and mother-in-law attending today’s meeting for the presentation.
Our president, Brian Farris, presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Robert W. Bruce for his many years of Kiwanis Service and monetary contribution to Eliminate to his widow.

Kiwanis District Convention

As I mentioned in the meeting yesterday I am not able to attend the district convention this Saturday in Altoona.  If somebody else would like to attend along with John Manley and Jack Pagel please let them know.  I apologize for the late notice but unfortunately its unavoidable.  In the absence of a third attendee I will reimburse the club for my registration fee.

BaconFest Omaha

Please join The Salvation Army for the first ever BaconFest Omaha

Sunday, August 11, 2013– Bacon Lover’s Dream Day!
1:00 – 6:00 PM
Kroc Center, 2825 Y. St., in the Festival Plaza

This flavorful fundraiser will provide a day of bacon inspired activities including a Kids Corral (play area), Omaha area bands, vendor booths, games, celebrity judges, family activities.  You won’t want to miss the Farmland Bacon Cook Off featuring their DURoC pork bellies and hand trimmed, hardwood smoked bacon!


We wish to Thank You and all the Kiwanis Club members for your long time support and volunteerism.  You have been great friends.  We would like to offer special ticket pricing for you and your members.  Your ticket price would be $18.00 for adults (which is a 25% savings!) and $5 for children, ages 5 though 12.  Admission is free to children under 5.
